Our extensive catalogue of rave mixes, me and Pete converted many of our old tapes to digital for this section. Dates will be listed if known, if we miss any please feel free to let us know. I’ll be highlighting sets that had an impact on us, those sets you listened to that much you knew every MC vocal. Click the DJ profile pic to go to their mix page.

DJ Slipmatt – The Godfather of hardcore, my personal favourite DJ of all time. His impact on the scene was biblical, from his brother starting the legendary Raindance parties to he and DJ Lime forming SL2 that made tracks that hit the UK top 40 at the time and got them several appearances on Top of the Pops! This DJ was pivotal to the UK rave scene and without a doubt it wouldn’t have been what it was without his input.

Carl Cox – The rave legend that played it all, wasn’t afraid to mix breaks with techno and happy with dark, Carl knew a tune is a tune whatever the genre and if it was good enough, it went in his set. One of the most prolific DJ’s on the scene who went on to do massive things in Ibiza.

Top Buzz – When you think of ‘rave’ most people from that time may think of these guys, I can’t put in to words how important they were to the scene, playing tunes sometimes months in advance of a release, they popularised the term ‘jungle techno‘, and absolutley smashed dance floors up and down the country each and every week. Originally MC Mad P, Mikee B and DJ Jason Kaye, Mikee left into the garage scene, Jason so sadly died in 2023, now there’s only one. Mad P is still going strong. My earliest memories of hearing rave music were from these guys. ABSOLUTE. LEGENDS.

DJ SY – The scratch master himself, one of the most technical DJ’s that ever did it and only DJ Hype can be compared with his scratching ability on the rave circuit, also a huge producer and label owner who formed Quosh records.

DJ Pilgrim – Resident DJ from the legendary Club Quest in Wolverhampton, Pilgrim is one of my favourite DJ’s, fantastic mixing and track selection who started from the hip hop days and was known for ‘doubling up’ tunes whereby he had the same track on each deck with one about a second behind the other to do some live remixing shenanigans.

DJ RATTY – One of the most technical DJ’s on the circuit, Ratty used to get busy on the crossfade and scratching. One of our favourite DJ’s who made some banging tunes himself, especially with the late and great DJ Tango.

The Ratpack – Evenson Allen and Lipmaster Mark were known as the Ratpack, happy vibe tunes and a massive on stage presence, Evenson is one of the greatest MC’s to ever do it, rapping and singing as well as hyping up the crowd. These guys made some seminal rave tracks as well, such as the massive ‘Searchin’ for my Rizla‘.
